LinkedIn is testing a new AI chat feature that generates messages to help users reach out to people about job opportunities. Available to LinkedIn Premium users, the “ask about job opportunities” function listed the user’s experience and identified relevant skills for jobs at the recipient’s company. While the feature saved time, it generated generic messages that often listed the user’s experience inaccurately. One AI message described a journalist as having more than 8 years of experience when their LinkedIn profile showed fewer. Despite the errors, LinkedIn noted that the messages were intended as a solid first draft that users could edit and personalise.
