With apps, you can add a plethora of automated functions, extra abilities and other customizations to your Discord server. Downloading and installing an app is easy to do, and we’ll show you how.
The first step is to access Discord’s official App Directory. You can get there with ease by clicking the down-arrow icon, available at the top-left corner of your server page. Here, you have the opportunity to look for your desired app. Let’s say we chose the Midjourney Bot app, which utilizes AI to generates images in your server. After selecting it, you’ll be asked to give approval to add this app to your Discord server.
If you don’t find the app you’re looking for in the official App Directory, you might need to scout third-party sites. Just keep in mind that these apps have not been checked by Discord and you could be risking your server’s security by using them. It’s recommended to only use the apps you can find in the official App Directory. Once you found the app at a third-party site, you must invite it to the server by clicking the “Invite” button and log into your Discord account. Afterwards, review the app’s permissions list and click “Add to Server”.
After downloading and installing an app, you’ll want to learn how to use it. All you need to do is type “/” (forward-slash) in any text channel and you’ll see the commands that allow you to trigger the app.
In addition, each app’s overview panel explains how to get started and provides a few commands.
Now that you know how to download and use Discord apps, you’re ready to give our server a whole lot of fun extras.
