Faraday Future, an electric vehicle (EV) startup, has recently embraced artificial intelligence, specifically GPT-3, in order to make up for lost time, after a series of financial and production issues. Its first production vehicle, the FF 91, has just rolled off the production line, and Faraday Future has hopes that incorporating GPT-3 into the vehicle will make it stand out from the rest.
The Generative AI Product Stack by Faraday Future is fueled by a capable computing platform, an operating system that is compatible, and internet connectivity. Prashant Gulati, the head of corporate strategy at Faraday Future, announced that its possibilities for the FF 91 would include text and voice inquiries, image and video generation, stock analysis, real-time translations, search, education, entertainment, e-commerce and much more.
The vehicle itself is no slouch either, boasting an EPA-certified range of 381 miles and a 0-60 time of 2.2 seconds, powered by 1,050 horsepower. Faraday Future is aiming to offer more generative AI features in the FF 91 model at its upcoming launch event. There is no definitive timeline for customer deliveries yet, as the first model only just rolled off the production line this April.
It appears that Faraday Future is hoping to achieve success in the highly competitive EV market by making use of AI. GM has also considered using GPT-3 in their car production, and we could see a rise in AI-integrated vehicles in the future.
Faraday Future was founded in 2014 and is a Chinese-American electric vehicle manufacturer founded by Chinese entrepreneur Jia Yueting. He currently serves as the Chief Entrepreneurial Officer and overseeing the development of Faraday Future.
Prashant Gulati, as mentioned is the head of corporate strategy at Faraday Future and has been instrumental in the development of the FF 91 production model and the integration of AI into it. He has been at the company since it emerged following the financial troubles and production delays, and he has been an important player in the company’s journey back to relevancy.
