Samsung, the South Korean technology giant has made a bold move in the AI landscape. The tech giant has now imposed a ban on the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, thereby preventing any leak of internal data. This ban has come following some of its employees accidentally leaking sensitive company data through the use of ChatGPT.
Microsoft’s OpenAI’s ChatGPT is a new AI tool designed to turn people’s thoughts into text. However, this AI model also stores user data and poses a security risk as the data can potentially fall in the hands of other people. Hence, Samsung took the wise decision of banning the use of ChatGPT.
This ban by Samsung applies only to its employees and won’t affect the consumers in any way. But the tech giant is continuing to work on its own Artificial Intelligence tools with its main focus on providing assistance in software development, summarizing documents, and translation. However, it is too early to predict if Samsung will make these tools available to its consumers.
In the meantime, Samsung has also integrated a ChatGPT-powered BingAI in its devices. The Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard comes pre-installed with OneUI and has been integrated with the Bing AI.
