Connecting Global Investors to Africa’s Growing Economies

Investopia, the global investment platform has announced the partnership with Business Finland at its annual 2023 conference held at Abu Dhabi in March. This partnership, between Investopia and a leading economic organization from Finland, aims to explore investment opportunities in Africa. Business Finland, the government organization for innovation funding, trade and investment promotion and travel, had an influential presence at Investopia 2023 with their active participation in the conference sessions and a roundtable attended by global business leaders.

Timo Metsä-Tokila, Executive Director and CFO of Business Finland, believes Finland’s partnerships in future shaping solutions are in high demand and provides great opportunities for both industry players and the greater society. Business Finland assists in the realisation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in addition to creating value from large companies to small, innovative ones and research institutions, in alignment with Investopia’s mission.

Further speaking of the opportunities, Victoria Ivanova, Senior Advisor of Business Finland, was highly enthusiastic of Investopia’s potential to bring global and transformative impact. During the Investopia 2023 Conference, a roundtable featured two unique African growth projects: Isiswe, the hub for commercially viable broadband connectivity, and the Prieska copper-zinc mining project that is developing a carbon-neutral mine.

IQM Quantum Computers, represented by CEO and co-founder Jan Goetz, also took part in the event with a session called “Quantum Leap: Transforming Industry through Quantum Computing and AI”. Jan Goetz spoke about the role of quantum technology in various industries, citing its ability to solve problems exponentially faster than traditional computers.

The Investopia 2023 conference was a meaningful reflection of their mission and goal to facilitate the new economies of Africa through global investors and entrepreneurs. With their partnership with Business Finland, this investment platform is set to empower African economies with cutting-edge technologies and sustainable solutions.

His work has been widely published in technical books, papers and journals. In 2019, Goetz co-founded IQM with colleagues at Aalto University to make the power of quantum computers accessible to all industries.
