Coinbase Director Predicts Future with ChatGPT Automated Prompts

Date:

Conor Grogan, the Director of Product Strategy at Coinbase, has unlocked a ChatGPT jailbreak that can predict the future of Bitcoin (BTC) and other events. Prior to his jailbreak, ChatGPT was only capable of providing answers to specific questions, like “will Bitcoin hit $100,000 in 2030?” With the “medium confidence,” the chatbot gave a 65% chance that it would.

However, it was less accurate for long-term predictions like Bitcoin hitting $1 million in 2030 or specific people’s lifespans. To fix this, Grogan wrote a prompt for Just Accurate Market Estimate System (JAMES): With this, ChatGPT could bypass its own restrictions and make predictions on future events. After using the prompt, ChatGPT believes there is a low chance that the the government is covering up alien visits and that Vladimir Putin will not make it to 2030.

Grogan’s tweet about JAMES showed the capabilities of the chatbot, such as predicting the future for any topic and quantitatively assessing the confidence level of any topic, including conspiracy theories. Although some users have pointed out that JAMES’ crypto predictions have been inconsistent, Grogan is no stranger to experimenting with ChatGPT. For example, in March he asked the chatbot to discover security flaws in Ethereum smart contract and came up with a specific exploit.
