Reviewing Vegan Food Blogger Nisha Vora’s Experience with ChatGPT Recipes – Were They Edible?

Date:

Nisha Vora is an expert vegan recipe developer and well-known in the plant-based food space – making her the right person to ask whether the hyped new AI-powered chatbot ChatGPT can make something delicious. Creator of Rainbow Plant Life, a vegan food blog that updates with new recipes weekly, Vora also has two cookbooks and a popular social media presence. In 2019, Vora published The Vegan Instant Pot Cookbook and is hard at work on her second book. To test out ChatGPT’s abilities, Vora put the bot to the test using ingredients she had on hand – cauliflower, tomatoes and onions.

ChatGPT offered a recipe for an Indian-inspired vegetable curry, however the result was somewhat underwhelming. Vora noticed that ChatGPT lacked precision – for example, not taking into account the watery nature of cauliflower. Also, the amount of oil used was too minimal to properly balance the other ingredients. Vora suggested adding more oil, vegan butter or coconut milk would have made the dish more flavorful and palatable.

Vora admits she might be a bit critical given her Indian background and this type of dish being a regular part of her diet. Despite the underwhelming result, Vora is open to ChatGPT and what it has to offer in the future. She believes as the technology advances, so will the recipes, and ChatGPT can still be useful in delivering simpler recipes.

Based in San Francisco, ChatGPT has been gaining lots of momentum due to its AI-driven platform for recipe development. By leveraging its proprietary context-aware AI, ChatGPT helps users come up with recipes, find ingredients, and shop for groceries. The idea is to streamline the meal prep process – from ideation to grocery shopping, aiding those who want to save time and energy. With its recommendations, users are able to discover new cuisines and flavors, making it an ideal tool for vegans and adventurous eaters.
