On Friday, Artificial Intelligence Company OpenAI announced that customers in Italy would again be able to use ChatGPT chatbot service, This resumption of service came after OpenAI addressed or clarified data protection and privacy concerns raised by Italy’s data privacy agency, the Italian Data Protection Authority (GPD).
OpenAI recently provided solutions to Italian regulators in order to avoid a ban of its popular ChatGPT service. This was followed by Italian deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini taking to social media to state that the block was “disproportionate”.
OpenAI, is backed in part by billions of dollars from Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), a leading global technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington. The company has adopted OpenAI’s technology into its developer software suite, Power Platform, Azure cloud and also its Bing search engine and related mobile applications.
OpenAI is a San Francisco-based research laboratory that is focused on developing artificial intelligence to benefit humanity. The company is led by startup entrepreneur and investor Sam Altman, former Y Combinator President, and Chief Scientist Greg Brockman.
