Microsoft’s Risk of Alienating Users with Bing AI Switch

Date:

Microsoft has been pushing its Edge browser for some time and now there is a new twist. Microsoft is trying to push its Bing AI by entreating Edge users to try it out when they visit the Bard AI website. The message encourages the user to compare the two AIs and make their own judgement.

Microsoft is hoping those users will be impressed by what Bing AI has to offer when compared to Bard. But some critics warn this tactic could backfire since Microsoft cannot guarantee it will perform better.

The comparison feature appears to still be in a testing state and it is currently not confirmed which version of Edge will end up with this feature. Right now if you visit the Bard website with Edge or the Canary browser version, you will be presented with a banner offering the comparison between Bing and Bard AI.

This move by Microsoft has caused an uproar with some people who feel they are being badgered to pick one AI over the other. However, this comparison gives users the chance to make a fair judgement and Microsoft is confident that their AI will come out on top of the competition.

Despite this confidence, Bard is currently winning the battle against Bing, with Google desperately trying to level the playing field. There are also rumours that Microsoft is considering the implementation of ads with ChatGPT-powered AI.

Google and Microsoft are in a competition to outdo each other, a battle that is being fought on the browser and AI front. But no matter which AI comes out ahead, users should be able to make an informed decision on which one they feel is the better choice.
