ChatGPT is an amazing app, which allows you to have some fun but it is also a high target for hackers and scammers. Recently, cybersecurity researcher Alex Kleber, aka, Privacy1St found several fake OpenAI/ChatGPT apps on the Mac App Store, that mimic the logo and color schemes used by OpenAI. Those apps are asking for money upfront, while ChatGPT is free to use and even with the $20 subscription model which provides faster response and priority access, it is not obligatory. Additionally, some fake apps are locking customers out of their accounts.
