Enable Chat History Removal with OpenAI ChatGPT

Date:

OpenAI recently announced that users of its ChatGPT chatbot can now decide whether or not they want chat history to be used when training its AI models. As such, users can toggle the “Chat History & Training” setting on their accounts to switch off the chat history when they don’t want it to be used. With this feature activated, OpenAI won’t save any conversations for up to 30 days, to allow for monitoring of any abuse that may occur. Users must manually turn this setting on and off, as OpenAI does not automatically switch it off for existing conversations.

OpenAI is also introducing a feature that allows users of their ChatGPT Business plan to opt out of the company’s use of their conversations for model training, while preserving the history. This subscription plan is geared toward businesses that use ChatGPT, and conversations are not shared with OpenAI by default.
