Alibaba and a16z-Backed Cider Launches AI Assistants

Date:

A Singaporean startup called Mindverse is revolutionizing AI monetization. The company has developed an API interface that they call a “grounding layer” for businesses, which allows the creation of smart agents with its own vertical memory and various skills sets, thanks to large language models (LLMs). Already, the AI agents have been tested and approved by organizations such Alibaba’s ecosystem, a16z-backed fashion startup Cider, and Hooked, an education platform. With such successes, Mindverse is close to sealing its Series A funding of $ 10 million, with investments from Sequoia China, Linear Capital, K2 Venture, Yinxinggu Capital and Plug and Play.

Mindverse is bringing a more advanced method of accessing data than typical recommendation algorithms. Its agents allow users to have a two-way interaction, where chatbot can actually understand and absorb the inventory data of a webpage. For example, on a hotel booking web page, the Mindverse agent will know the conditions and preferences of the traveler and the respective travel buddy, and suggest the most suitable vacation spots. Additionally, Mindverse allows other conventional programs to integrate their algorithms with the AI agent’s API skillset, so that they can learn from the user’s past behaviour.

Fangbo Tao, the founder of Mindverse, brings to the table a wealth of experience as a part of AI systems of prominent tech companies like Facebook and Alibaba. The previous round held by Mindverse valued it at $45 million.

When it comes to AI-powered platforms, Mindverse is a promising example of how the generative world of artificial intelligence is constantly evolving. By providing businesses with a comprehensive agent that can autonomously learn API, documents and data sources, the startup is enabling sites to create customized and dynamic user experiences.
