Date:

OpenAI CTO Mira Murati is a prominent figure in the world of artificial intelligence (AI) and has been shepherding ChatGPT in recent years. ChatGPT is an AI system that can converse with humans by understanding natural language. Murati recently addressed the question of how AI, such as the popular GPT-3, can be developed safely and in an aligned manner. Murati’s belief is that AI systems must have a robust understanding of the world to be reliable; thus, GPT-3 is designed to understand text and images, and even other modalities. Despite these advancements, Murati also believes AI systems must be able to reason, and as a result GPT-4 was developed, as it is capable of better reasoning between concepts.

At the same time, Murati believes AI should have environments that are close to reality to continue advancing, and that this is critical for identifying the weaknesses and failures of the technology. OpenAI CTO Mira Murati has firmly positioned the company and AI field for advancement and success.
