Ola’s Krutrim to Launch AI Silicon Chips for Electric Scooters by 2026

Bengaluru-based AI startup Krutrim is set to revolutionize the tech industry by producing AI silicon chips by 2026 in collaboration with industry giants Arm and Untether. This groundbreaking development will see these chips integrated into electric scooters, starting with Ola’s innovative vehicles.

Led by Bhavish Aggarwal, the co-founder and CEO of Ola, Krutrim aims to create India’s first AI silicon chip, paving the way for faster and more efficient AI systems. Strategic partnerships with ARM for chip design and Untether AI for chip manufacturing have been established to ensure the success of this project.

Ola’s MoveOS5, the upcoming version of its scooter software, will benefit greatly from the integration of these AI chips. The company is also working on its semiconductor manufacturing plans, with plans to release the first Bodhi chip in 2026 and Bodhi 2 in 2028.

Furthermore, Krutrim is expanding its data center capacity to 1 GW by 2028 to support its AI and cloud initiatives. The company has also launched the Krutrim cloud with AI capabilities, offering a range of services for developers to create innovative products. In a bid to support startups, Krutrim has introduced the ‘Krutrim for Startups’ Udaan program, providing financial support for promising new ventures.
