CPEC 2.0: Transforming Pakistan into an Attractive Investment Destination
Pakistan’s strategic economic partnership with China through the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has entered a new phase with the launch of CPEC 2.0. The second phase offers great opportunities for job creation, youth empowerment, and economic growth, provided security and institutional challenges are effectively addressed.
Chinese Minister Counsellor Yang Nuo highlighted the momentum generated by CPEC 2.0, aiming to further advance Pakistan’s development through Special Economic Zones, accelerated project implementation, and increased agricultural exports to China. The strategic long-term partnership between China and Pakistan is based on mutual trust and cooperation, focusing on mutual benefits and shared prosperity.
Senator Mushahid Hussain emphasized the shifting power dynamics from the West to the East, with China’s increasing influence as a scientific superpower. He highlighted the broad national consensus on CPEC in Pakistan and the importance of unity to ensure its success, despite attempts by hostile elements to sabotage the initiative.
Dr. Ashfaque Hassan Khan underscored the comprehensive nature of CPEC as a regional initiative promoting connectivity, regional cooperation, and integration.
