Installing ChatGPT on Your iPhone and Mac

Date:

ChatGPT from OpenAI has recently become a great asset for users. Last December it launched a chatbot with a web browser for easy interaction–but now a way to get it on iPhones and Macs has come to fruition. Thanks to the two apps, MacGPT and GeePeeTee (both free, though Jordi Bruin–the developer–accepts donations for MacGPT), one can have ChatGPT at their fingertips on their device.

To set up these apps, you will first need to get an account on the official website of ChatGPT.

MacGPT lets one to have ChatGPT at their fingertips right away on their device, as it creates a separate window. On top of that, MacGPT offers customizing options, such as adjusting the length of the ChatGPT responses, making the menu view narrower or wider, and allowing ChatGPT to be used in other apps like ‘Notes’ on Mac, through creating a personal API key on OpenAI’s website.

Similarly, GeePeeTee allows the user to get quick access to the ChatGPT app without needing the browser. On the iPhone, it offers even more, such as the ability to start multiple chats and the voice-text-to-conversion feature. The only prerequisite is to have a personal API key set up on the OpenAI website.

Jordi Bruin is the creator of both of these apps. A software engineer and mobile application development specialist, he has worked in various areas of technology, from web development to artificial intelligence (AI). His experience with AI, specifically with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, led him to develop MacGPT and GeePeeTee in order to extend and make the ChatGPT expediency more device-friendly.
