Google Battles for Advantage with Coding Help Feature Versus ChatGPT

Date:

Google recently announced a major update for its conversational AI service, Bard, which aims to help software developers with programming and software development tasks. The search engine giant has named the update “Coding Assist” and has promised to help developers with code generation, debugging, and code explanation. According to Google, Bard’s capabilities include translating software from one language to another, debugging lines of source code, and providing line-by-line code explanations.

Google has created a system for offering “Coding Assist” that is more efficient and user friendly than the general purpose AI chatbot developed by OpenAI – ChatGPT. This system includes more than 20 programming languages such as C++, Go, Java, JavaScript, Python and Typescript, and can easily export Python code to Google Colab without copy and paste.

Google is a search engine giant and technology company that provides a wide range of services, including G Suite and the power to reach software professionals with its AI service. With Google’s focus on providing this “Coding Assist” capability to its users, it could gain a significant edge over OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which is solely developed for general purposes. Despite their advantage, Google has warned that Bard is still in the early stages of development, and that occasional inaccuracies, mistakes and false information may appear.

Sergey Brin is the co-founder of Google and has been a major part in growing the company to the level it currently is at. He has founded Google with his friend Larry Page in 1998 and since then, Google has gone on to become a search engine giant and one of the most valuable and known companies in the world. After being a major part of the monumental growth spree, Brin stepped down as President of Alphabet Inc, the parent company of Google, and is currently the Alphabet’s President of Special Projects.
