Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of our daily lives, revolutionizing various sectors and enhancing productivity like never before. However, experts are warning against the unethical use of AI to ensure responsible innovation and avoid over-dependence on this transformative technology.
In a recent capacity building workshop in Ibadan, young individuals were urged to harness the power of AI to drive societal progress and tackle global challenges effectively. With around 1000 beneficiaries participating in the initiative, the focus was on promoting skill development and wider adoption of AI in Nigeria.
While AI offers significant benefits in healthcare, finance, transportation, and other fields, experts emphasized the importance of ethical use to maintain self-reliance and critical thinking. They stressed the need for responsible AI implementation to prevent potential misuse and ensure sustainable growth.
Looking ahead, organizers aim to establish more institutions in Nigeria to teach AI, fostering a culture of innovation and skill-building among the youth. By encouraging ethical and responsible use of AI, the goal is to create a balanced approach that maximizes the technology’s potential while mitigating any risks associated with its widespread adoption.
