Google AI is set to challenge Samsung’s Galaxy AI with a new suite of features launching on the upcoming Pixel 9 smartphone. While Samsung was the first to introduce AI capabilities with Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 earlier this year, Google is now stepping up its game with Google AI.
The new Google AI features on the Pixel 9 will include existing features like Circle to Search and Gemini, as well as three new additions: Add Me, Pixel Screenshots, and Studio. Add Me ensures that everyone is included in group photos by merging different shots together, while Pixel Screenshots analyzes saved screenshots for relevant information like text, URLs, and app names. The Studio feature uses AI to generate stickers, images, wallpapers, and more based on user input.
On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy AI already offers features like an AI Wallpaper Generator and Generative AI-powered image editing. However, it lacks features similar to Google AI’s Add Me and Pixel Screenshots. Reports suggest that Samsung is working on an AI image generator that can enhance rough sketches made with an S Pen, likely debuting on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with One UI 6.1.1.
With the competition heating up between Google AI and Galaxy AI, users can look forward to more advanced AI features on their smartphones, enhancing their overall experience with innovative capabilities.
