An Amazon-funded company, Anthropic, has launched its AI app, Claude, for iOS devices, aiming to compete with other generative AI tools like ChatGPT. The app is designed to enhance productivity by providing advanced AI models for individuals and teams.
Claude AI app, previously available as an online service, is now free to download on iOS devices. Users can analyze photographs from their library or taken live with the iPhone’s camera. The app allows for 45 messages every 5 hours, with the option to upgrade to Claude Pro for increased limits.
In addition to the individual version, Anthropic has introduced Claude for Teams, which enables more queries per user for team collaboration. The team version costs $30 per user per month and requires a minimum of 5 team members.
Founded by ex-OpenAI engineers, Anthropic has received funding from major tech companies like Amazon, Salesforce, and Google. Apple, on the other hand, is working on its in-house generative AI app called Ajax and is expected to announce new AI features for iOS 18 at WWDC in June.
With the introduction of Claude on iOS, Anthropic aims to establish best practices for safe and trustworthy AI applications in the industry. The app provides a range of functionalities, from assisting in deep work to serving as a creative collaborator or instant assistant, ultimately driving better results for businesses and individuals alike.
