Huawei and Partners Collaborate to Build a Smarter and Greener Singapore
Governments worldwide are increasingly turning to Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a strategic tool to drive economic growth. In Singapore, a significant investment of over S$1 billion in AI over the next five years underscores the nation’s commitment through its National AI Strategy.
Recognizing that the success of AI depends on the participation of major tech players, Huawei is taking a proactive approach to empower partners in creating a more intelligent and sustainable Singapore. This collaborative effort was highlighted at the recent Huawei Singapore Partner Summit by Mr Maxi Wang, CEO of Huawei International.
The landscape of AI has transitioned from individual customizations to large-scale industrial applications. Our goal is to assist all industries in maximizing the opportunities presented by these advancements, Mr Wang emphasized.
The establishment of the Singapore AI Centre of Excellence in 2022 has positioned Huawei as an innovation leader. By leveraging the Horizon platform and fostering collaborations with partners, Huawei is addressing real-world challenges and delivering significant value across various sectors.
With a focus on encouraging AI adoption, Huawei has developed over 100 tailored solutions for more than 10 verticals. These solutions, supported by cutting-edge IT infrastructure and a versatile cloud platform, incorporate features like interactive collaboration, intelligent sensing, and seamless connectivity.
One notable solution, the Huawei OneMap GPT, integrates geospatial and generative AI technology to streamline tasks such as scheduling and property searches by utilizing data from public and private sectors.
In addition to AI initiatives, Huawei is driving digital transformation through offerings like the 10Gbps Cloud Campus and Wi-Fi 7 access points, which accelerate customers’ digitalization efforts. The use of Intelligent O&M, powered by big data analysis and AI, ensures network efficiency, while Huawei’s Multilayer Ransomware Protection (MRP) enhances security across network and storage levels.
Furthermore, Huawei Cloud Stack (HCS) offers a wide range of cloud services for private and on-premises use, enabling seamless deployment in business data centers and ensuring compatibility with Huawei Cloud services and APIs.
In a commitment to sustainability, Huawei has partnered with EV-electric (EVe) to deploy ultra-fast chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) in Singapore. These chargers, with charging rates of approximately 1km per second, are powered by solar panels and battery energy storage systems, aligning with environmental conservation efforts.
Mr Ivan Low, Chief Strategy Officer at Huawei International, emphasized the significance of digitalization, intelligence, and decarbonization as key opportunities for the company in the coming years. By investing in AI computing, large models, and clean energy solutions, Huawei aims to meet industry requirements for decarbonization.
Acknowledging the importance of collaborative ecosystems, Huawei is committed to optimizing partner enablement, protecting investments, and incentivizing contributions to joint market development. Ms Lei Ting, Senior Vice President of Huawei Enterprise Business for Singapore, reaffirmed Huawei’s dedication to enhancing partner capabilities and driving mutual success in the evolving digital landscape.
