**Police arrest man after chase through Waterloo, Elk Run Heights, Cedar Falls**
A man was arrested by the police early Sunday after leading them on a chase through three different cities before ultimately being apprehended with the help of stop sticks.
The Cedar Falls Public Safety Department reported that the pursuit commenced in the early morning hours when they attempted to pull over Demarco Dante Harris, 38, in the vicinity of West 12th and College streets due to speeding.
Harris managed to evade authorities as he drove through Cedar Falls, Waterloo, and Elk Run Heights before finally being taken into custody without any further incident in Waterloo. At 2:17 a.m., he was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail.
Facing charges of second-offense eluding, a felony, Harris was also arrested on a domestic assault warrant related to impeding air and blood flow, as well as a parole violation warrant. The latter charge stems from causing injury to another individual by either choking them or obstructing their nose or mouth, as outlined in the Iowa Code.
His license had been suspended, and he was issued citations for various traffic violations.
Harris remains in custody at the jail on a bond of $12,300. The Cedar Falls, Evansdale, and Waterloo police departments received assistance from the Iowa State Patrol, Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office, and Merle’s Auto Service in the arrest operation.
