Monzo Founder’s AI Startup Nustom Adds Former VP Matt Heath, Backed by Top Investors including Tom Blomfield

Date:

Ex-Monzo tech exec, Matt Heath, has recently joined his former co-founder’s OpenAI-backed coding startup, Nustom. This move comes as Monzo co-founder Jonas Templestein launched Nustom, an AI startup aiming to simplify software development for individuals without technical backgrounds. Templestein’s founding team already included Monzo alumni, and with Heath’s addition, the team is strengthened with their shared expertise.

Heath and Templestein crossed paths at Anne Boden’s Starling Bank as software engineers back in late 2014. Their tenure at Starling Bank was short-lived, as they both departed within five months to follow Tom Blomfield to create Monzo. Templestein assumed the role of CTO, while Heath became a founding engineer, eventually rising to the VP level during his seven-year tenure at the fintech company. His focus on architecture and infrastructure, coupled with leading the technical aspects of Monzo US’ beta launch, highlights his valuable contributions.

Nustom has already garnered support from 42 investors, with notable names like OpenAI’s Research Lab, Y Combinator CEO Garry Tan, and even Tom Blomfield backing the venture. This strategic collaboration positions Nustom as a frontrunner in the AI-driven software development space.

Heath’s decision to join Nustom marks a significant milestone in his career, bringing his wealth of experience and expertise in the fintech sector to drive innovation and growth in the coding startup. As Nustom continues to evolve and expand its presence, the combined efforts of the seasoned team members are poised to revolutionize the software development landscape.
