Changing the Future of EA FIFA Games on PC

Date:

EA FIFA games on PC have been highly criticized in terms of quality and performance. With the next installment of the series now coming out, EA Sports Football Club (formerly known as FIFA), it’s the perfect time for EA to make some changes. While the series has been licensed up to the hilt, with accurate badges and kits, the framerate, modding capabilities, and input lag continue to be a problem for PC gamers. Furthermore, EA have failed to bring the narrative-driven content found in the previous The Journey Trilogy to the PC version of their game.

For EA to really make a statement with their new EA Sports Football Club, they need to address these issues. The first priority should be to make sure EA Sports Football Club runs smoothly on anyone’s machine. Even on a high-spec RTX 2080 Ti, FIFA 23 struggles to lock down a steady 60FPS, let alone an ideal 120FPS. EA needs to optimize the game so it demands less of even the latest and greatest graphics cards. Once that’s addressed, fixing the input lag should be next on the list. The ability to play with both a mouse and controller greatly increases the precision of the game and allows for more ways to enjoy the smooth control set and intricate player movements the series is known for. More room for user custom mods would be highly desirable too. EA have overlooked a large PC fanbase for too long – making it easier for PC gamers to patch in the missing Serie A teams, using necessary tools and option files, will be essential for the faithful.

EA should also work on bringing the quality of story found in The Journey Trilogy to the PC version. This narrative story-driven campaign, which follows the journey of Alex Hunter from his humble beginnings to the top of the professional ranks, was one of FIFA 17-19’s most enduring features, and it would be great to have something similar for PC players to enjoy as well.

EA Sports Football Club is a great opportunity for EA to show how much they understand the key issues PC gamers have, and how they can apply their resources to make sure their next game is the best it can be. Hopefully they can provide a smooth frame rate, minimal input lag, robust modding capabilities, and an engaging story -all essential components to ensure PC gaming fans are just as excited as console owners for the new release.
