Apple CEO Tim Cook and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella are set to visit Indonesia in April 2024, according to a statement from the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi.
Tim Cook is expected to inaugurate the Apple Academy in Bali on April 20, following the establishment of training centers in BSD and Batam. The Apple Academy aims to enhance the country’s human resources through education and training programs.
On the other hand, Satya Nadella will arrive in Indonesia on April 17, three days before Tim Cook, to discuss technology and knowledge transfer for the country’s digital transformation. Microsoft has been collaborating with the Ministry of Communication and Information on various initiatives, including AI technology development.
It has been revealed that both Apple and Microsoft anticipate meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo during their visit. The companies have expressed their interest in expanding their investments in various sectors, including human resources development and manufacturing, to support Indonesia’s growth and development.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Nezar Patria welcomed the collaboration with Apple and Microsoft, emphasizing the potential benefits for Indonesia’s digital talents and overall technological advancement. The government is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with these global technology giants to enhance the country’s capabilities and strengthen its position in the digital economy.
