Elon Musk Warns of Dangers of Artificial Intelligence

Elon Musk recently warned people on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to be careful with artificial intelligence (AI). He believes the technology poses a direct danger to the public and thus warrants government oversight. Musk has made these types of comments about the effects of AI multiple times in the past. Even though he is afraid of what advanced AI can do, he is still reportedly in the middle of creating a generative AI project called X.AI.

Apart from his own work, Musk has compared AI to nuclear weapons and recently voiced his concerns to Tesla investors. He also previously criticized OpenAI—a company he founded—for its work with AI. Musk suggested an AI that yearns to understand the universe is less likely to destroy humanity. He referred to this AI as TruthGPT or “a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe.”

During the interview, Musk briefly spoke about the plans for his own AI development. His new recruitments from top research labs such as Alphabet’s DeepMind will assist him with this project. representatives of his didn’t respond to comment requests.
