Piaggio Unveils Groundbreaking Factory Robot kilo for Moto Guzzi Production

Italian Vespa manufacturer Piaggio has recently unveiled an innovative factory robot powered by artificial intelligence. The new robot, named kilo, is capable of autonomously navigating pre-set routes and can carry payloads of up to 130 kilograms.

Piaggio plans to deploy this cutting-edge robot on the production lines of its Moto Guzzi motorbike brand in Italy initially, with future plans to introduce it to additional factories in Italy, India, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

Developed by Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF), the company’s U.S.-based robotic mobility unit, the kilo robot offers impressive capabilities. It can follow operators, travel along up to 100 pre-programmed routes, or operate independently. According to Piaggio, these robots can move safely amidst workers in complex environments, making them suitable for various industries that rely on the repetitive movement of goods.

Greg Lynn, the CEO of Piaggio Fast Forward, highlighted the versatility and adaptability of the kilo robot, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize various sectors.
