Huawei ICT Competition Concludes in Tunisia, Teams Head to Global Finals

Huawei recently organized the Huawei Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Competition 2023-2024 Northern Africa Regional Final in Tunisia. The event saw 30 teams from nine countries participate, including Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Senegal, Libya, Egypt, Cameroon, and Mali. The winning teams from this regional competition will advance to the global finals in China later this year.

During the competition, more than 100 university teachers and students showcased their talents and skills in various technological fields. The Tunisian Minister of Communication Technologies, Nizar Ben Neji, highlighted the significance of Huawei’s contributions to Tunisia’s technological development and the broader African region.

Mohamed Ben Amor, the secretary-general of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), emphasized the importance of collaboration, excellence, and innovation in the information and communications industry, all of which were evident throughout the competition.

Liang Feihu, the general director of Huawei Tunisia, reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to supporting Tunisia’s digital transformation strategy. He mentioned that Huawei has established strategic partnerships with over 60 Tunisian universities and research institutions. Additionally, Huawei aims to train 10,000 professionals in Tunisia within the next five years, focusing on 5G, cloud technology, and artificial intelligence.

The ICT competition was held from March 4 to 8 and was organized by Huawei Tunisia in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies and the AICTO, showcasing the company’s dedication to fostering innovation and talent development in the region.
