Are you worried about leaving your furry friend alone while you’re away at work? Companion, a robotic device designed to take care of your pup while you’re away, might be the answer. Billed as a robotic playmate, trainer, and optional automatic feeder for dogs, Companion is designed to monitor, entertain, and train your canine companion.
Companion, a product of Honchariw Technologies, is a device that sits atop four short wooden legs and features a camera, speaker, treat dispenser, and software that the company claims can help train your dog. It is able to dispense treats for reward-based training as well as monitor shifts in your dog’s physical health as it ages, providing warnings and alerts to possible conditions.
John Honchariw, founder and CEO of Honchariw Technologies, expressed his passion for helping humans to develop a stronger bond with their dogs. For those wary of leaving their pets alone while they go to work, he hopes the Companion device can bring the same level of pet care while they are away.
The device is offered at various price points, ranging from $49 to over $100 per month depending on the plan. For customers who put down a $49 deposit, they will be able to select a basic Companion plan for $49 per month. This plan includes the device, access to an app and training modules for your pet, as well as additional “early perks” such as personalized coaches and access to special events. The device is expected to be available in May 2024.
If you’re looking for a way to care for your pet while you’re away at work, the Companion robotic device can be a great way to keep your pup safe and entertained. With the various plans and features offered, it could be a great way to ease your pet’s loneliness while you’re away.
