Expedient, a full-stack cloud service provider, has expanded its operations with the addition of a new data center in Columbus, Ohio. The facility, located in the former Nationwide data center, will help meet the growing market demand for Expedient’s services. This expansion marks the company’s 15th data center in the United States.
The state-of-the-art facility spans 102,000 square feet and offers 39,600 square feet of raised floor space. It is equipped with four on-net carriers, providing excellent connectivity. Initially, the data center has a power capacity of 3 megawatts, which will be increased to 7.5 megawatts in the future.
Expedient aims to strengthen its presence and service capabilities in Ohio and across the country. The company’s Cloud Different approach allows clients to transition to the cloud at their own pace and access value-added managed services effortlessly. Additionally, clients can colocate their equipment adjacent to their Expedient cloud platforms, eliminating network latency and data transfer fees, resulting in significant cost savings.
Designed to exceed the standards of a Tier 3 data center, the new facility, known as CMH3, is Expedient’s largest data center in Ohio. It will serve both local and national clients, including well-known brands like Nationwide, Bob Evans Farms, and Stanley Steemer.
As part of a long-term partnership, Nationwide will continue as the landlord of the facility, while Expedient assumes full operational control and responsibility for future upgrades and expansions. The new data center will not only meet Nationwide’s existing requirements but also provide additional capacity to serve clients across Expedient’s services.
With redundant power and cooling infrastructure systems, including five standby generators, the facility guarantees reliable and efficient operations for its clients’ critical data and applications.
This strategic expansion aligns with Expedient’s growth strategy, as the company focuses on providing transformative IT and emerging AI capabilities to its clients. With 15 data centers spread across ten markets in the United States, Expedient continues to expand its footprint and enhance its service offerings.
In recent years, the demand for data centers has increased significantly, driven by the rapid growth of the digital economy and the increasing reliance on cloud-based technologies. As businesses continue to migrate to the cloud and require scalable and secure solutions for their data storage and processing needs, the expansion of data center infrastructure becomes crucial.
Expedient’s new data center in Columbus, Ohio, will undoubtedly play a vital role in meeting this demand, providing reliable and efficient services to clients both locally and nationally.
