DeepFest Returns to Riyadh: A Peek into the Future of AI
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The highly anticipated DeepFest 2024, hailed as the premier meeting place for the global AI ecosystem, is set to make its grand comeback from March 4 to 7 at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center. This four-day event promises to provide attendees with a glimpse into the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential impact on various industries.
As the world experiences the rapid release of AI models, especially large language models such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google Bard, excitement and concerns surrounding AI’s influence on the global economy continue to grow. According to a study by McKinsey & Company, AI applications have the potential to generate approximately $150 billion in real value for the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, equivalent to more than 9% of the combined GDP of regional countries.
Recognizing the significance of the fourth industrial revolution, governments and businesses in the GCC are now embracing the global shift toward AI and advanced technologies. The region faces a crucial choice: either becoming part of the global technological disruption or risk being left behind.
The organizers of DeepFest 2024 firmly believe that being left behind is not an option. This edition of the event aims to build a thriving AI ecosystem by fostering discussions and seminars on crucial topics such as AI policy and governance, AI ethics and regulation, generative AI (GenAI), robotics, and the relationship between AI and the future of work.
Attendees of the AI conference can expect to witness the unveiling of government AI initiatives, explore the latest innovations across various sectors, and immerse themselves in thought leadership conferences, dedicated tracks, live demos, innovation sessions, and an exhibition featuring top technology companies including IBM and Google. With an estimated attendance of over 20,000 participants, DeepFest 2024 is poised to be a globally prominent event.
Co-located with LEAP, the world’s largest tech event that brought together more than 172,000 attendees in 2023, DeepFest will attract a diverse range of global thought leaders, data scientists, innovators, enterprises, academia, start-ups, and entrepreneurs. Through a themed program focusing on the past, present, and future of generative AI (GenAI), conference attendees will gain valuable insights into topics such as AI and robots’ evolution, leveraging the power of data and AI to create value, AI’s impact on society, and the future landscape of work.
The headlining speakers expected to grace this highly anticipated event include industry experts like Omar Hatamleh, the chief AI strategist at NASA, Ivana Bartoletti, the global chief privacy officer at Wipro, Shaloo Garg, the managing director of AI, Late-Stage Start-ups, and Unicorns at Microsoft, and Thomas Davin, the director of innovation at UNICEF.
DeepFest 2024 serves as a testament to the commitment of the GCC region to embrace AI and become a significant player in the global AI landscape. As the world enters a new era of technological advancements, events like DeepFest provide a platform for collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and innovation, enabling the region to thrive in the AI-driven future.
