Google recently announced that it will be introducing generative AI, a feature similar to the popular ChatGPT, to integrate directly into its products. Generative AI is an advanced machine-learning technology that can self-generate content by recognizing the inputs given to it. Samsung, amongst other Android users, got a sneak peek to the new Gmail feature while it is still in the testing stage.
The new features available on Gmail consist of a ‘Help me write’ and ‘Refine my message’ FAB in the compose screen within the Gmail app. When users click on the ‘Help me write’ button, they get access to a text box. A prompt is given and then users have to elaborate a bit more before pressing the ‘Create’ button to generate content. The ‘Refine my message’ feature will let Google improve or clarify any mistakes in the body of the email. In addition to these options, users will get the ability to Formalize, Elaborate, Shorten, and Bulletize the text for better readability.
Google’s innovative approach to using generative AI technology such as ChatGPT and refining emails can help streamline communication. This technology has the potential to semantically analyze emails, suggest better vocabulary and grammar in order to help users express themselves in more accurate and sophisticated ways.
Google is expanding its AI capabilities in a bid to provide users with an incredibly personalized, intuitive and efficient way to communicate more effectively. The company has revolutionized office collaborations through its incredible products. Google Docs continue to be among the most used applications in the world, and now with the Generative AI, users are set to experience a whole new way of innovative email exchanges.
