Rumors about the latest iPhone 15 Pro have been circulating for some time, but the newest one has left many scratching their heads. Reports of an Apple Watch Ultra-style Action button on the Pro and Ultra models of the iPhone 15 have led to a rumor that this button, when combined with the power button, will be able to turn off the phone. Currently, the volume button must be pressed in combination with the power button to turn off an iPhone. However, two experts have voiced their doubt, claiming that Apple’s next flagship handset will be featuring traditional button designs. Serial tipster @analyst941 has suggested an alternative: Apple is still planning on releasing the Pro and Ultra iPhone 15 with the solid-state (or non-physical) volume buttons. These could simplify the development and testing process, such that a dedicated microprocessor would be needed for them.
Haitong Tech analyst Jeff Pu and reliable Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo have countered by saying that Apple will be delaying the introduction of the solid-state volume buttons until their 2024 edition. The debate continues and which tipster is actually correct is unclear. For now, we can only wait for iPhone 15 Pro’s official announcement.
