Elon Musk Reveals Possible Competition to ChatGPT: “Less Likely to Harm Humanity”

Date:

Twitter CEO Elon Musk has recently highlighted the potential bias of popular chatbot ChatGPT and plans to develop a rival AI to combat it. Musks ‘TruthGPT’ (maximum truth-seeking Artificial Intelligence) is supposedly intended to better understand humanity, and as such be less likely to turn on us as Musk views AI to have the potential to destroy us.

In addition to ChatGPT tech, Musk has also recently incorporated a new business called X.AI Corp, further demonstrating his focus on Artificial Intelligence. His opinion is well known in the AI world and he’s been a volatile presence within the field since its origins. Initially, Musk was an investor with OpenAI, the company responsible for the foundation which ChatGPT rests upon. It was from this capacity he left in the January of 2018 to wholly focus on his engineering projects with Tesla, although there were some conjecture that he may’ve left due to philosophical differences.

The quality of Tesla’s AI has recently come into focus regarding the investigation of a fatal accident involving a Tesla in California. It has highlighted the necessity and importance of regulation of autonomous cars and other AI features. Musk as a progressive entrepreneur is aware of the potential dangers when it comes to AI and is thus rallying the call for appropriate regulation while strengthening the technology to ensure humanity’s safety.

X.AI Corp is Musk’s recent venture into AI and though little is currently known, speculation is placed on the intentions behind TruthGPT. Though the venture is still in its preliminaries, its success could potentially revolutionise the tech world with this more focused ‘truth-seeking’ AI. With so much at stake and with Musk leading the development, it will without a doubt be one of the more fascinating technological developments of the decade.
