Dubai is set to host the World Government Summit next month, where leaders and experts from over 150 countries will gather to address the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on future challenges. The summit, taking place from February 12 to 14, will feature discussions led by prominent AI experts such as Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, and Jensen Huang, president of Nvidia.
Recognizing the significance of AI in our daily lives, Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and chairman of the World Government Summit, emphasized that while AI may not fully transform the world in the next five years, it will undoubtedly have a profound and long-lasting impact in the next millennium. With the potential to solve numerous problems, AI is still in its early stages, and its development will alter global economies, research capabilities, and human knowledge.
The World Government Summit will host 15 conferences dedicated to defining the future of AI, government services, urbanization, education, and smart mobility. An additional six conferences will focus on health, sustainable development, future economies, and advanced technology. Over 4,000 participants from both the public and private sectors will take part in 110 interactive sessions, featuring 200 speakers representing international, regional, and intergovernmental organizations such as the UN, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the World Health Organization, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and the Arab League.
Minister Al Gergawi expressed his belief that the World Government Summit serves as an important knowledge-sharing platform for new and innovative ideas. He underscored the event’s commitment to gathering the brightest minds in various sectors including technology, energy, finance, and transportation, along with Nobel Prize winners and world leaders, to contribute to global progress. The participating leaders’ names will be announced in the coming days.
For the past decade, the World Government Summit has been instrumental in bringing together influential figures, with over 50 presidents, 2,500 ministers, 1,550 speakers, and 38,000 participants in attendance. This year’s summit aims to shape the future of governments and identify innovative solutions for the challenges that lie ahead.
