VW’s ID.7 Electric Sedan Offers Long WLTP Range of 435 Miles

Date:

Volkswagen has finally revealed its highly anticipated ID.7 electric sedan, the latest addition to the company’s popular ID series of EVs. The ID.7 offers an impressive and long-distance range of 435 miles on the WLTP test cycle, and although it should maintain a higher rating compared to the US regulations, it’s still an impressive feat. Besides its range, it has also ushered revolutionary changes in its interior design, and clever use of technology.

As far as design is concerned, the ID.7 has a highly aerodynamic design that has a drag coefficient of 0.23, while powering a new and efficient 210kW (282HP) motor with an optional 86kWh battery. The interior designs are equally impressive and includes an augmented reality heads-up display, a 15-inch infotainment display, a customizable favorites buttons, sunroof with smart glass and an advanced Harman Kardon sound system among other features. Furthermore, adaptive climate control seats are also included as a first from VW.

Safety features are imparted with Travel Assist that helps navigate into even backroads and can perform lane changes on highways, as well as parking itself when the driver is outside. Plus, controlling a number of cabin features can be done with Ida voice assistant.

The ID.7 will be made available for sale in the European and Chinese markets come Fall 2023, while North American buyers will have to wait until 2024. While crossovers and SUVs dominate the markets in North America, the range of ID.7 might just give potential buyers a chance to opt for a longer-distance electric car without having to settle for a higher-end luxury option.

Apart from being VW’s latest premium electric vehicle, the ID.7 brings a reliable and longer range of 435 miles. Such a range is difficult to find in any other EV that can match the performance and range of the ID.7 at a reasonable price.
