Army Commanders Discuss National Security Issues in India

On Monday, the top commanders of the Indian army began their five-day long conference to deliberate on the national security issues related to its borders with China and Pakistan, and to boost combat capabilities of the Indian armed forces. This year’s conference has been conducted in a hybrid format, with some commanders participating in person at the South Block of Raisina Hills in Delhi and the rest joining virtually. The agenda of the conference will be to focus on India’s Year of Transformation-2023 reforms, advance digitization and automation, developments in artificial intelligence, robotics, and virtual reality.

Furthermore, the leaders will look into the progress of “Agnipath” scheme, regional security situation, the ongoing geopolitical situation between the Russia and Ukraine, and the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. On April 19, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address the conference and also review the equipment display focusing on niche technology, innovation, surveillance, operational logistics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality.
