Accepting Mobile Payments Easier with GoDaddy and an iPhone

Date:

GoDaddy has joined the growing list of website builder services that are now offering Apple’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology. This new and free feature from their mobile app is currently only available to users based in the United States.

GoDaddy’s Tap to Pay on iPhone technology allows small businesses to accept payments simply and conveniently, without the need for a separate POS system. By downloading the GoDaddy mobile app on compatible iPhones, businesses can accept a wide range of contactless payments, from debit and credit cards to digital wallets such as Apple Pay.

The release of this service is a response to Apple’s announcement of Tap to Pay in February 2022, which aims to eradicate the need for external POS equipment. Similar services are also available from providers such as Wix and Stripe.

Osama Bedier, the President of GoDaddy Commerce, commented on the introduction of Tap to Pay: “Based on our data, more than half of all in-store purchases are now contactless, making it a favorite way for consumers to make payments in-store. By adding Tap to Pay on iPhone to the GoDaddy Mobile App, we are enabling millions of small businesses to accept in-person payments without the need to purchase additional hardware. This is especially important in current times. GoDaddy is dedicated to supporting small businesses by providing user-friendly, connected commerce tools.”

Apple makes sure that no card numbers are stored on their device or on their servers. For added security, GoDaddy uses advanced encryption to safeguard users’ data. All transactions made through the GoDaddy Mobile App are powered by GoDaddy Payments, with accompanying transaction fees of 2.3% plus 0 cents per in-person transaction.
