Kubiya AI’s New Product Launch: ChatGPT for DevOps

Date:

The recent launch of Kubiya Inc., an advanced startup providing ChatGPT for DevOps, promises to make life easier for DevOps engineers who are responsible for coordinating teams and software setup. Known as ‘DevOps’, the practice of combining Software Development and IT Operations aims to automate all associated processes.

The headless internal developer platform works with collaboration tools such as Slack and Teams, and supports provision of resources, set up of continuous integration/continuous development jobs, Kubernetes deployments, cloud usage reports and other DevOps functions. Through ChatGPT like experience, Kubiya helps to simplify DevOps in the easiest way: by transforming complex tasks into simple conversations in natural language. It is designed to help create and manage automations, workflows, and other DevOps related tasks quickly and efficiently.

Kubiya can be seen as leveraging AI to become a force-multiplier for steps such as DevOps infrastructure setup, enhancing productivity for its users. For instance, one can ask natural language questions as to how to set up a workflow and the created conversational system will deliver an instant response by drawing from the customer’s internal documentation and other knowledge. It is like GitHub Inc’s Copilot which automates coding for efficient programming; however, Kubiya uses ‘behavioral AI’ to learn from user preference and data, in order to give recommendations for day-to-day operations.

Founded by Amit Eyal Govrin, Kubiya is aimed at reducing the time spent in adopting and maintaining complex systems. It can be easily integrated into existing DevOps platforms, allowing a smooth transition for new users. In addition, Constellation Reseach Vice President and Principal Analyst Andy Thurai mentions that the tool is well suited for companies working with multi-cloud application environment, and warns against any potential vulnerabilities with code generated by it.

DevInfra Inc., creator of the DevZero developer environment, was one of the early adopters and has already reaped benefits. As per Debosmit Ray, CEO of DevInfra, implementation of Kubiya cut down time for permissions and running DevOps workflows by half.

Apart from Kubiya Inc., companies like Pulumi Inc., Amazon Web Services Inc., Google Cloud and Microsoft Corp. are also advancing in this field, promising a big potential for the concept of generative AI in the DevOps and CloudOps scene.
