Alibaba Cloud Launches its ChatGPT Analogue

Date:

Alibaba Cloud has just unveiled its version of generative AI, the Tongyi Qianwen language model. It functions in a similar way to ChatGPT, giving customers access to the capabilities of AI and ML. The system supports both Chinese and English at the moment and is set to be introduced to various divisions of Alibaba.

The release of the Tongyi Qianwen language model is not the first of its kind in China. Previously, Baidu had created their own version of the Chat GPT, called Ernie Bot. Whilst the system is already in use by a select few, the public will soon have access to it.

Alibaba Cloud is a leading cloud services provider in China. Founded in 2009, it has grown rapidly in the AI and Edge computing technology space, offering customers industry-leading infrastructure services with Alibaba’s cutting-edge technology. Alibaba Cloud is managed by the Alibaba Group – a multinational technology giant.

The Tongyi Qianwen language model was unveiled today and can be accessed by customers starting on April 14. It is currently used in applications such as the DingTalk collaboration platform and the Tmall Genie voice assistant. This is just the start though! Many more Tongyi Qianwen-enabled apps are said to be released in the near future.
