The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has set up a task force to deal with the ChatGPT issues. This move is designed to strengthen cooperation between different national authorities and bring uniformity among the rules and regulations. The task force will also be responsible for updating the detailed enforcement measure.
Recently, the Italian data protection authority had banned OpenAI’s ChatGPT platform due to complaints of breach of data rules as users were able to access titles of other people’s conversations with the chat bot. Consequently, the country released a list of conditions to be met before the service can be resumed.
Likewise, Spain’s data protection agency requested the EDPB to analyze the potential impact of ChatGPT on privacy.
