OpenAI Releases ChatGPT Android App in Malaysia – Start Conversing with the AI Chatbot Today!

Date:

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has launched an Android app for users in Malaysia, allowing them to start conversations with the AI chatbot. The company had recently announced the rollout of the Android app to other countries and has now made it available on the Google Play Store.

However, users need to exercise caution while searching for the ChatGPT app on the Play Store, as other apps with similar logos may appear. To ensure the safety of installation, users should verify that the app displays OpenAI as its publisher.

Similar to the web version, the Android app requires users to log in to access the chatbot, powered by GPT3.5 (or GPT4 for Plus users). First-time users can log in with their Google account, Apple ID, or create a new account using their email address. OpenAI also requires users to have an active phone number for verification during the account creation process.

Once logged in, users can view and resume previous conversations with ChatGPT on other platforms through the History tab and initiate new conversations. The app also offers a speech-to-text feature, enabling users to converse with the chatbot using their voice.

By long pressing on a message from ChatGPT, users can access a menu that provides various features from the desktop version, such as regenerating specific responses, indicating the quality of a response, selecting and copying text.

Currently, the ability to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus is not available on the Android app but is expected to be added soon. ChatGPT Plus offers an enhanced chatbot experience with access to the GPT4 large language model, faster response speeds, beta features, and the ability to use the chatbot even during periods of high demand. The subscription to ChatGPT Plus is priced at $20 (RM90.22).

Initially launched in the United States, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil on July 26, the Android version of ChatGPT is now accessible to users in Malaysia as well. The iOS version has been available to Malaysians since June.

In conclusion, OpenAI’s release of the ChatGPT Android app in Malaysia allows users to engage with the AI chatbot conveniently. With features such as cross-platform conversation history, speech-to-text functionality, and upcoming ChatGPT Plus subscriptions, OpenAI continues to expand accessibility and improve the user experience of ChatGPT.
