Indian-Origin Scientist Dr Pratik Desai Predicts Human Consciousness Uploading to Computers Soon

Date:

By the end of 2023, humans may be able to transfer consciousness and sensibility into computers, according to Dr Pratik Desai, an Indian-origin computer scientist. Dr Desai has advocated for people to start recording the voices of their loved ones, which can remain immortalized in recorded audio for future generations. In this way, individuals can generate a computer avatar in the likeness of their departed relative or loved one, and said avatar can remain available for use long after their physical bodies have passed away.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Meta Chief AI Scientist Yann LeCun’s research project, also supports the same idea. Through OpenAI’s program, users can talk with their departed loved ones through an AI assistant. This is further advanced with Somnium Space, a metaverse company, which offers an “Live Forever” mode which allows individuals to interact with their dead relatives, with the program supposedly accurately imitating their speech patterns, moves, and sound.

Deepbrain has also developed the Re;memory program, which allows users to create virtual memorials to the person they have lost, and even enable them to have a conversation with their departed loved one. If a user has enough data stored, then there is a possibility that the individual can live on through these conversations and provide comfort to those who are grieving.

Somnium Space was founded by CEO and Founder Artur Sychov, who has stated that if enough data is stored, then people can have conversations with the dead long after their passing. He has even speculated that people won’t even realize that they are talking to an AI version of the person until the first 10 minutes of the conversation.

This staggering concept has become more real with the passing years, and in the near future, people may be able to find comfort in the voices and memories of their loved ones and share them with generations to come.
