Emirates NBD, a banking group in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye region, has announced a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to harness the power of generative AI and transform its operations. This partnership aims to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and improve customer experience within the banking industry.
The transformation plan consists of three key initiatives that will revolutionize software development, collaboration, and customer engagement at Emirates NBD.
Firstly, the bank’s IT teams will be enabled with Github Copilot X, an advanced generative AI tool developed by Microsoft. With the support of this tool, Emirates NBD expects their coding proficiency, software development speed, and quality to significantly improve. This enhancement will pave the way for technological advancements, enabling the bank to respond to customer needs with greater agility and efficiency.
Secondly, Emirates NBD will pilot the usage of Microsoft 365 Copilot across the organization. This collaborative tool, powered by generative AI, will automate repetitive tasks, generate content, and assist with complex decision-making processes. By implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot, Emirates NBD aims to create a more intelligent and agile workplace, fostering innovation and optimizing productivity.
Lastly, the bank will deploy ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art conversational AI model, across all business and support functions, including Contact Centres, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Risk departments. Through a successful Generative AI Hackathon, Emirates NBD gained valuable insights into ChatGPT’s capabilities and fine-tuning techniques. The adoption of ChatGPT will enable the bank to deliver personalized customer experiences, improve operational efficiency, and promote innovation throughout the organization.
