China’s internet watchdog, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC), has published detailed rules on AI models, outlining the country’s approach to generative artificial intelligence (AI) services. The regulations, set to take effect on August 15, include implementing classification and tiered supervision for AI services and encouraging innovative development in the AI field. Notably, the provision for fines ranging from RMB 10,000 to RMB 100,000 for violations of technical regulations has been removed.
