The FactCheck Initiative (FCI) has launched a new AI-powered chatbot, ChatBawa, to verify information on WhatsApp using GPT-4 artificial intelligence capabilities. FCI founder Temitope Adeoye stated that the service aims to assist native-language speakers who face language barriers when accessing information verification, reporting, self-assessment, and feedback. ChatBawa is available in nine languages and users can make use of functions such as AskME AI assistant to quickly summarise and generate images. Adeoye explained that Bawa provides a comprehensive platform for information verification, reporting, self-assessment, and feedback. ChatBawa is private and secure, with any information shared kept private.
