Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has launched a three-month pilot program in the United States that enables drivers to control their car’s infotainment features using ChatGPT, an advanced artificial intelligence system. Those with MBUX, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience, software, which is installed in around 900,000 vehicles across the country, can download the ChatGPT update wirelessly, after which drivers can use a conversational voice assistant to make a variety of requests, including for directions, weather updates, trivia, and jokes. Drivers can also enquire about their car’s features, performance, and history. Mercedes plans to expand ChatGPT into other languages and markets.
