Google warns employees about leaking confidential information in chat with Bard during race.

Google’s parent company Alphabet has warned its employees about the risks of using AI chatbots like Bard and ChatGPT. Alphabet has advised its staff not to enter sensitive company information into the bots due to concerns of data leakage. The company’s long-standing information protection policy also applies to the use of public chat programs. Many companies, including Samsung, Amazon and Deutsche Bank, are now putting guardrails on AI chatbots. Previously, workers used AI tools such as ChatGPT in secret from their superiors. About 43% of professionals were using ChatGPT or other AI tools as of January, according to Fishbowl research. Google is now in talks with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission over concerns about Bard’s privacy implications.
