Turkish Opposition MP Presents Parliamentary Motion from ChatGPT

An opposition party representative in Turkey has submitted a parliamentary motion using an artificial intelligence tool. ChatGPT helped Burak Dalgın, who is the Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Digital Transformation Policy Chair for Turkey’s opposition Democracy and Progress Party (DEVA), create the document, which asks Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır about the country’s policies on artificial intelligence. Dalgın’s motion raises issues related to AI’s development, integration into national defense strategies, internet speed, fiber optic networks, and data centers. The document asks if the government has a comprehensive assessment of AI structures in Turkey and whether there’s a plan or strategy to address emerging ethical and security challenges of AI.
