A Stanford University student has created a pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to provide small talk for users who suffer from social anxiety. Bryan Chiang developed RizzGPT, a software that uses OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot to generate responses to conversations. RizzGPT utilises an open source AR monocle which features a camera, microphone and projector screen. The technology is still in prototype phase and Chiang has yet to iron out bugs found in the device. RizzGPT is intended to show new ways of interacting with advancing technology rather than replace conversation.
